Some love stories feel especially close to home. I met Henley freshman year of college, and even then, her kindness had a way of radiating into every room she walked into. Years later, I had the joy of watching her marry Jackson—a love that feels every bit as genuine, gentle, and full of joy as she is.
Their story began as college sweethearts, and their September wedding at Matt Lane Farms felt like stepping straight into a fairytale. Tucked among the family farm, surrounded by the beauty of the season, their stone outdoor chapel made the most magical setting for the beginning of their forever.
And then there’s Jackson—a fellow photographer and fellow creative who is the perfect match for Henley. There is something so special about watching two creative souls find each other, and even more special when they are both such genuinely kind people.
Their day was filled with the kind of joy that doesn’t need to be staged. It was in the way they looked at each other, the way their friends celebrated them, and the little in-between moments that made their gallery feel so alive. Their love radiates through every image—and one of those images went on to be named Arkansas Bride Photo of the Year, which feels like such a fitting little recognition of a day that was already so special.
But perhaps my favorite part of the Hilliards’ story is the way it has continued long after their wedding day. Some of Henley’s bridesmaids have since become my own brides, creating the sweetest little circle of friendship, trust, and love that I never could have imagined back in freshman year.
What started with a college friendship became the honor of documenting their love story—and somewhere along the way, the Hilliards became friends of mine, too.
A love story rooted in kindness.
Rooted in creativity.
Rooted in friendship.
And beautifully, completely rooted in love.
